SIGSAC Awards
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
The SIGSAC Awards Committee is now open to receiving nominations for the
awards. The awards will be presented at the 31st ACM SIGSAC Conference on Computer and Communication Security, Oct. 14-18, 2024, Salt Lake City, US.
DEADLINE FOR AWARD NOMINATIONS: The deadline for receiving nomination is midnight AOE, July 14th, 2024. Note that nominees and nominators
are NOT required to be ACM or SIGSAC members.
Nominations should be submitted via e-mail to the chair of this year's SIGSAC Awards Committee: Dr. Ting Yu (tingyu.tyu@gmail.com).
Award Overview
ACM SIGSAC offers two annual Awards: SIGSAC Outstanding Innovation
Award and SIGSAC Outstanding Contributions Award. For more information
on previous recipients, please visit the ACM SIGSAC Awards page.
Award Criteria
- SIGSAC Outstanding Innovation Award: This award is given for
outstanding and innovative technical contributions to the field of
computer and communication security that have had lasting impact in
furthering or understanding the theory or development of secure
systems.
- SIGSAC Outstanding Contributions Award: This award is given for
significant contributions to the field of computer and communication
security through fostering research and development activities,
educating students, or providing professional services such as the
running of professional societies and conferences.

Nomination Process
Each nomination should be co-sponsored by at least 3 people, including the nominator. Each nomination must include:
- Proposed citation, up to 25 words
- Names of at least 3 sponsors (including the nominator)
- Succinct (100-250 words) description of the
innovation/contribution,
- Statement justifying the nomination, and
- Curriculum vitae of the nominee. There is no nomination form as such.
NOTE: items (3) and (4) above should fit on one printable page (single
column, at least 10pt type). Nominations should be submitted via
e-mail (with subject "SIGSAC Innovation/Contributions Award
nomination") to the chair of the 2024 SIGSAC Awards Committee: Ting Yu (tingyu@acm.org).
The winners will receive the Awards at the 2024 ACM CCS
conference. Self-nomination is not accepted. A nominator can submit at
most 3 nominations. For sponsors, there is no limit to the number of
nominees that one can sponsor.
DEADLINE FOR AWARD NOMINATIONS: The deadline for receiving nomination is
midnight AOE, July 14th, 2024 (No Exceptions or Extensions). Note that nominees and nominators are not required to be members of ACM or SIGSAC.
Exclusions
The committee will adhere to the ACM Awards Committee Conflict of Interest (COI) guidelines. Particularly, the SIGSAC award committee members and chair are not eligible to be nominated for either award, and are not allowed to nominate and endorse candidates.
